The grotto is a dedication to Our Lady of Lourdes and a memorial to an Irish student at Southern Catholic College, Kevin Sinnott, who drowned in a nearby lake in 2009. The grotto is open to all in the community, whether they are Catholic or not. It is a place for prayer and contemplation. It is a place for peace.

Location: 991 Kilough Church Rd, Dawsonville, GA 30534

“When I was a young boy, I actually dreamed of building a grotto. I don’t know why; it’s not a normal dream for a kid; but when I heard about this project, it was like God sent it directly to me. I felt honored to lend my skills, and did so with an open heart filled with gratitude. Every stone that was put in there was a prayer. It was an act of faith, and was inspired by the Holy Spirit.”
